It’s 2020 - A NEW YEAR! I’m back from some much needed time away and ready to get back to some regular fortnightly grocery shopping and meal planning, just in time for a new school year! Today’s meal plan is for week 4 in January and week 1 February to go with the current fortnightly grocery haul.
You will see in today’s video our house is so empty, but I did have some freezer meals still from my January stockpiling that has helped. So when meal planning I planned around those meals and ingredients I still had some of. Because I do need to refill my food areas by so much, I have had to really plan my meals as budget friendly as possible. So the dinners I have chosen will spread over more than one night and are very affordable … in saying that we love everyone of them so that is the main thing as they won’t go to waste!
Im also using a few of the freezer meals I have in the freezer to save some money whilst the others left over will move into January’s meal plans. Another thing to note is that Christmas is in this fortnight. However I will be doing a seperate meal plan and grocery shop for that day so keep an eye out !
My budget for this fortnight is $200 for my main shop as always and then $50 for a top up shop in the second week. Right now my estimate is coming $181, but you will have to see the matching current fortnightly grocery haul to see how I went !
Some tools I used to do my meal planning were:
