Well I am well and truly into Lockdown 2.0 g again and settled into balancing homeschooling, working from home and a crazy 4 year old miss running rapid!!!!! lol lol lol lol. Even though I've settled back in well I still have a need for super simplicity when it come to my meal planning, especially for dinners. With so much on it's still vital dinner times have the least amount of preparation time for me - quality meals of coarse, just less hours in that kitchen. So for this fortnight I'm really relying on a lot of my already prepared freezer meals from my stockpile/chest freezer. That way I wont feel the need to bulk food prep as much as I normally do and I will have majority of nights in my fortnight on the table in 20 minutes.
If you you have been following along and seen my budget update since COVID hit. So my general rule is now $70 per adult (persons aged 14yrs+ because we all know that teenagers eat as much as adults at this point!) and $50 per child (under 14yrs) in the household is the main grocery shop budget for a fortnight. With then a flat $70 for the top up shop in the second week of the fortnight. So in total that is $310 for the fortnight for my family of 4.
Keeping all this mind my budget for my main shop is $240. I’m currently estimating that I will spend around $205, so be sure to watch the matching grocery haul to see if I stay under budget !
