It’s December week 3 and 4 of my meal plan to go with the current fortnightly grocery haul.
This fortnight is all about doing a lot of roast meats with salad/vegetables for a couple of reasons. The first is because we have hot hot hot weather coming up and our air conditioner is broken (so I’m freaking out). So I don’t want to be cooking in the kitchen on hot days, it’s just too hot ! My plan is to cook up (on a cooler temperature day) multiple roasts on my bulk food prep day. Then I’ll cut up and divide into portions and freeze. That way I can just pull out on what ever nights planned either having heated up or cold with salad/vegetables! Perfect for summer time ! The other reason is it’s school holidays for us already so I want definitely keep it simple and easy so I have more time with the kids ….. also after being sick simple meat and veggies is something that sounds really great !
Im also using a few of the freezer meals I have in the freezer to save some money whilst the others left over will move into January’s meal plans. Another thing to note is that Christmas is in this fortnight. However I will be doing a seperate meal plan and grocery shop for that day so keep an eye out !
My budget for this fortnight is $200 for my main shop as always and then $50 for a top up shop in the second week. Right now my estimate is coming $200, but you will have to see the matching current fortnightly grocery haul to see how I went !
