When Cherub Baby Australia (ships worldwide) suggested these new summer special edition print food pouches for my ‘Simple Summer Smoothies’ blog post, I was more than willing to give them a try. If you follow my You Tube channel you will see that I previously did some reviews on other great products they supplied and I was more than happy with them. They supply products from newborn right up into school age children (like these amazing Reusable Freeze n Squeeze Ice Pop Pouches). I've also done a review on along with some simple recipe ideas). Be sure to pop on over to the channel to see what I tested & Cherub Baby Australia website. Prices are affordable and products are of great quality.

Pro’s

Packaging -  The limited edition designs come in fun colours appropriate for many ages. These designs are even suited for my 7 year old son to take to school for yogurts & smoothies > Fun Tip - freeze the night before in summer and they are still cold by lunch break! Each pouch comes with a space to write a name. That could be used for the contents, the child you have it for or the date of the product made.

BPA FREE – These pouches are BPA, Phthalate and PVC Free.

Side Spout – I'll be honest I was a little skeptical about the side spout when nearly every other food pouch out there (including your supermarket yogurts) have the spout from the top. To my surprise the side spout has been a plus and much better for Miss Isabella 18mnths. She can actually now get everything out herself without coming to me to move the contents up to the spout for her. Love Love Love this idea!

The Perfect Size – These pouches are a perfect size for little hands. I have previously used another brand and they were a little larger and not so great in Isabella’s hands. I think too being that Isabella holds these on the side due to spout being on the side helps.

Pre Sterilised – Pouches are pre sterilized so you can use them straight out of the packet. No pre washing to be had!

Basic Measuring Guide – There is a measuring guide on the outside og the pouch to show you where 150ml & 5oz is I would imagine that this would be good for people storing breast milk.

Reusable – Pouches can be washed with warm soapy water, rinsed and then sterilized to reuse. To sterilize place it on the top tray of your electric steam sterilizer or in a microwave sterilizer to sterilize.

Leak Proof – the zip lock section when pressed down as it should be is completely airtight and does not leak. Its also extreamly hard for a child to open themselves!

Standing Bottom – The actual design of this product gives a wider bottom so when filled you can stand them easily which is really handy if storing in the fridge or freezer.

Con’s

Unsafe Lid – Most food pouches come with a child safe lid that screws on and off. This one is not and a child would choke on it if given the chance – in saying that I never give the pouch to my child with the lid (I don’t think anyone would?) so it is not an issue as far as me using.

Measuring Guide – As a pro it does contain a basic guide on where 150m / 5oz is, however it would be better if it had the full measuring guide that the plain pouches have.

Final Conclusion

I surprisingly loved these pouches compared to other brands that I have used. What I mean is that I honestly was thinking I would not like them with the side spout. However as I have said its proven actually to be a bonus in the design making it much easier for Isabella to feed herself and hold in her small hands. I LOVE the fun printed designs on them, it makes for a more fun experience for little ones. Joseph at 7 years old too is happy to use for a yoghurt on the go or in his school lunch box. The designs are not ‘baby’ in his words lol. Isabella was always more inclined to eat from pouches eg Raffertys that has a fun pictures on them that she likes (she loves the baby) The first thing she did with this one was look at the design and then once she was happy she started to eat/drink from it. The side spout confused her at first but she was quick to adjust and has really enjoyed them. They have been great when leaving the house to pop a smoothy or yoghurt in and take with us for a quick on the go snack. If I had these when she was younger I would definetly have done baby foods in them.

In all, these have been my favorite reusable food pouches I have used. I would recommend them to anyone looking for an option for both younger and older children.

  • What an economical idea for moms who make the food! Im a little weary about the side spout too, but looks like once they get the hang of it, it’s a no brainer!
